Isaiah 41:10

A very frustrating and yet most amazing thing happened to me today.  Oops!  I forgot...yes, I know...I have been off the grid. It was not too long though.  Yep, I had computer problems.  However, I am now up and running.  Yeah!
Ok, so back to the amazing and frustrating thing.  I was driving back from school where I had just drop off my children, and our vehicle went TOTALLY dead. No power!  I had to walk home.  On walking home, I was picked up by a friend.  This saved me some walking.  My daughter who is currently attending junior college, needed a ride to school in the next hour or so...I was thinking taxi to the rescue, but did not want to spend the money.  Already spent on gas.  Then, when I was about to call a mechanic friend of my husband, I got a call from a pastor friend of ours asking how I was doing.  I told the whole story, he came for the key and fixed the problem with the vehicle.
So, the amazing part: looking back, I saw God's hand in the whole thing.
1. Where the vehicle lost power, it did not block traffic.
2. The ride from my friend obviously help me, but she needed to talk right then too.
3. Although I made my own arrangements to get my daughter to school, our vehicle was fixed in time to get her to school.  No extra money spent.
4. As I was about to call for help with the vehicle, I received a call from the pastor friend who solved the problem.
5. In the midst of it all, I did not feel overwhelmed, and was able to think straight.
Isaiah 41: 10 became real again for me as I read it. "I am with you, I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you."
Sunday at church, I taught from 2 Chronicles 16:9.  God really showed His might in my behalf.  He is an awesome God, and He reigns and is in control.  His wisdom, love and power was demonstrated to me in one event.
This same God wants to 'show His might in your behalf'.  Will you let Him?

Daily Steps

Hi Readers,
It is interesting how God would call you to something, and He then prepares us for that thing to come to pass.  He uses daily life events and experiences to mold us and guide us to His agenda.
It has been some years now since I knew God had something more in mind for me to do than to grow up, get a job, get married, have children, and train them up.  For one thing, I notice that leadership always follows me.  I was leading the youth group in the church I grew up in from teenage years.  Throughout my life so far, I have had the privilege and honour to be on a few leadership boards/councils.  I actually came to the point of wanting a break from being a leader.  I have tried to escape and run from it many times.  As I have decided to embrace God's calling on my life, the work God has been doing in my life deepened.  I also realize that while I was trying to avoid His calling, I was still pursuing Him for a closer relationship.  When I thought I was just holding over for the next leader, (because I didn't want to do it), God was setting me up to be where He wanted me to be so He can release what He wanted to do through me.
God's ways are truly higher than ours.  We think one thing and he has a whole other agenda.  I stand amazed at God's ability to change me into the person He wants me to be even when I think I am accomplishing something else.  All my life's experiences-loses, lessons, victories, pain, everything; He has used it bring me in line with His agenda for my life.  There is so much peace in knowing that he is leading and He knows what He is doing.
It has not always been rosy.  I remember when my very spiritual foundation was rocked to the core four years ago.  I felt like Job.  Out of all that crippling pain, I learn more of what it means when He says "I Am who I Am..." (Exodus 3: 14).  Although I initially questioned why He allowed it to happen, I felt His love, His comfort and His healing engulfed my heart so that the pain crippled me no more.  When I was grappling with the loss, God was working on me.  Now, four years later, I see the work he has done and also that He was laying a foundation and positioning me for what He is now telling me I need to do next.  That is is just one life experience.
When Jesus was on the Mount of Olives, He prayed for His Father to "remove this cup from me..."; and in the same breath submitted to God's will. (Luke 22: 42).  Looking ahead to what God has called me to is daunting.  However, I am confident because I know who has called me, and that He is in control.  He will do the impossible through me as I obey Him.
If God is doing this for me, He desires to do the same for you.  We don't get to see His work in our lives until after he does it, or sometimes during the process.  His call is ultimately to have a close and growing relationship with Him.  His call on our individual lives will be made know to us when we open our hearts to Him.  You also can experience His blessings in all areas of your life.  No more excuses, just do it.

God's Leading Rules

Hello Friends,
I have not posted on this blog for some time now.  I have been prompted by the Holy Spirit to start again.  Well, I know I said that I would stick to Facebook notes, as I didn't feel i would be able to handle a blog, well....God is directing me differently and so here I am.
I have to admit I was afraid to come back to this as my first start did not take off to well.  I had to remind myself that this happens most times when trying something new, or when following God's lead into a new area.
I pray that this blog is a blessing to you whenever you would visit it.  I am still working on some changes and updating.
Thanks for those of you who had followed me while I first started.  I move on into the future knowing only that God knows what He is doing as He leads me.
To Him be the glory!
I leave with this reminder to us all.
"This book of the law (the Bible) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous and then you shall have good success."  Joshua 1: 8.
Till next post.....
